Day One of Lake Mead Open Canceled Due to Hazardous Winds

Wednesday, September 10, 2025
Lake Mead, NV – WON Bass officials have announced the cancellation of Day One of the WON Bass Open on Lake Mead, originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, due to unsafe weather conditions. Forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predict sustained high winds and hazardous conditions across the lake, creating significant safety concerns for all competitors.
“Angler safety is always our top priority,” said Billy Egan, Tournament Director of WON Bass. “After reviewing NOAA’s updated wind advisories, we made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel Day One of competition. While we know our anglers were eager to get on the water, conditions simply do not allow us to conduct a fair and safe event.”
Competition is expected to resume on Thursday, September 11, 2025, pending improved weather conditions. Updates and adjustments to the tournament schedule will be communicated to all registered anglers and posted on the official WON Bass channels.
WON Bass thanks all anglers, sponsors, and fans for their understanding and support as we prioritize safety during this event.
